At the age of fourteen I knew what fascism meant. I never had to learn it from a book. A class mate had pushed me up against the wall and explained that I did not have the right to think what I wanted to, since he was stronger than me. He exemplified with an allegory in which he was not allowed to say what he wanted to his older, stronger brother. I immediately understood what he meant, his line of argument was not hard to follow.
Recent years I have been working on trying to understand the mindset and the driving force of the fascist, especially in the shape of the swedish right wing nationalistic movement. The result, Longing for Ultima Thule, was presented as my graduation work at Konstfack in 2010.
